Reaching out with an 11 foot pole

The current situation in Gaza is not something I feel even remotely qualified to talk about but I can say one thing about what’s going on here in my native United states: The random attacks on Muslim people that have literally nothing to do with anything is despicable and disappointing. We learned nothing about the hate crimes against these people after 9/11 and it shows. Hearing that people are once again being attacked for just being Muslim makes me sick. I’m sure that it has been happening since the attacks some 22 years ago but I’d hoped that it was at the very least becoming less common. Here we, as a nation, are again doing the same backwards, knee-jerk crap we’ve always done. It really does make me sick to my stomach. It really does make it hard to just enjoy life and is something that weighs on me heavily.
