I’ve gotten off of twitter some time ago because it wasn’t worth keeping around and quite frankly, the idea of Elon Musk using anything I’ve done or made to add more money to his coffers makes me sick to my stomach. Standing up on stage and performing the quintessential Nazi salute being awkward in front of millions of people showed me what sort of man he is. But that’s not what I’m talking about right now.
I’ve also deleted my facebook and instagram accounts which isn’t that big a deal considering how little I used it for anything. The big reason for that is that Mark Zuckerberg has shown himself (again) to be capable and willing to mess with what Americans can see by attempting to alter what you can find on his platforms. This shift didn’t just start either. He’s been subtly manipulating your auntie into being a bit less open-minded and a bit more toxic for ages now.
Does it sound like a conspiracy? Perhaps. But I don’t think that I want to support anyone that thinks it’s cool to make certain, anti-conservative search terms return no results and allowing actual misinformation to be spread under the smoke screen of making his platforms a place for “free expression”. Since when is fact checking a bad thing? The answer is rhetorical of course. Don’t forget that this is the same dirtbag that started it all by making a “hot or not” site about the girls he went to college with.
And since it wouldn’t be fair to mention these two without the third, Jeff Bezo’s and his Washington Post isn’t much better. I hope that endeavor fails and the paper goes under. Apparently it’s not enough to have more money then most people can imagine and still want more. Try it for yourself: visualize 100 billion dollars. I bet you that you’re still underestimating it.
